Again

The moon was rising
Above the rooftop
Rising above the trees

Its brilliance is hazily beautiful
Even though someone
Something

Has taken a scoop
From the moon again?
No worries...

The moon is gracious
It gives of itself
Until it is no more

But returns again
Bright in the sky
With it's borrowed light

Ready to become full again
To give again
Then to leave, for a moment

Again

This is my entry for Thursday Poets Rally Week 42....let's go see what else is there.

My thanks to
Vinay and Jingle

Loved the middle section:

"Even though someone
Something

Has taken a scoop
From the moon again?
No worries...

The moon is gracious
It gives of itself
Until it is no more"

Couple of things...

"It's brilliance" should be "its brilliance." 'It's' is the contraction of it is, so "it is brilliance" makes no sense.

Also you start out in passive past tense then switch to passive present tense. What if you switched to active present tense - this would draw the reader in even more.

lynnaima, it's nice to have friends who are there. ;-)

Jingle, as bright as the moon has been, I'm happy to have been able to see what I was inspired by.

Yes it is Brian....yes it is...smiles

Thank you JL Dodge

Peggy, hi...I guess in my hurry to post I slept through a couple of things...yes you are right concerning both points. One I will fix for sure and the other I will leave.

This is not a throw back at you by any means...it's just a part of me. I will choose to live with the past and present mistake.

It will be a reminder....I know of several other posts that are in my thoughts at times, but I choose to let it be. Some I will change because...well, let's face it...it has to be changed.

One more thing...and forgive me for being so long. When I read a poem and I like it, it "was" a good poem to read, but...it still "is" a good poem to read. So the term "was is" makes all the sense in the world to me....but that's just me.

In all sincerity, thank you for stopping by and enjoying your read. My door is always open.

Hi bended...yes it is a joy to behold...thanks for stopping in.

Thanks fiveloaf

Your very kind thingy :-)

Hi Iris...I'm glad you liked it...yeah, I was sitting there and it looked as if it was tried to be had, but that was all he/she/whatever could get :-)

Hi Vinay, I cherish your appreciation...thank you.

luna...I have been smitten with a big smile across my face...thank you!

Kez...kind of you to say, and welcome

Hi Recluse, your beautiful words of appreciation have brought me smiles...:-)

Talking of the moon like that, leaving and borrowed light and comes back again - it is very inspiring. :)
